Unbeknownst to him
She had slipped her heart into his back pocket of his jeans
When they hugged goodbye for the last time
He’d put the jeans through a wash and wondered why the whole load came out tinged with love
And why every time he put one of those items of clothing on
He felt like he was getting an embrace from a friend
Except, perhaps, he should have used the ‘Gentle’ cycle.
